Christmas Wishlist

Christmas Wishlist

It's that time of the year again, where every family member, friend and boyfriend/girlfriend asks for your Christmas list or what you want for Christmas. I usually split mine into what I ask for from my brothers, another one for my boyfriend and another one for my mum, they all have different budgets and easy access to different products and it just makes it less likely to get the same thing twice. Obviously, I never expect to get every single thing from each list, I make them purposely long so that they have plenty of choices, but in this post, I decided to combine a few things from each list and maybe show you a few ideas of what you can buy other people.

Home & Lifestyle

room diffuser

For my home, I've been really wanting a room diffuser, and I just love the look of the Muji one every youtuber seems to own (I swear I'm not usually the kind of person that wants something just because they saw a youtuber using it) I really really really like this product, and it's a nice step up from an essential oil burner which I had for a few years. Also, it seems like a great product to help me relax while I do my yoga. If you'd like something different there are plenty being sold on Amazon or even my new fave store, Círculo Bio, which is also the place I'll be going for essential oils. I like really warm and sweet scents, most of my perfumes have the same vanilla base, which is ironic because I don't like vanilla, so I'll be going for a Clove, Cinnamon, Ginger and Orange to make a Christmasy scent for Winter and Autumn, Lavender, and Lemon for Spring, and Citronella, and Vanilla for Summer. The great thing about these is that they can also be used to make candles and products for your home (more on that on my Ultimate List of DIY Sustainable Products post) so you won't be wasting your money.

ornamental tree

Much as last year, I still love, want and need a Citrina tree, from Citrina Plants, I love them all but this year I've really fallen in love with the Onika, the fact they're the symbol for good luck and are usually gifted during this time of the year/new year just makes it even more perfect.

prints

Lastly, this is something that's been a long time coming, I've lived in this house for 5 years, and it still doesn't feel finished, and I think a big part of that is because the walls are so bare. My main goal is to have a bunch of personal pictures scattered around the house, and I often print a few that then get stuck into a paper envelope in the hopes of getting framed, trouble is frames are incredibly expensive and I just never buy them. Having said that, with prints I don't always feel the need for frames, I have a few Van Gogh ones in my bedroom which I bought in Amsterdam, and I quite like the look of them just leaned against the wall, frame-free, but the walls still need some help, and so enters Desenio. I've found my three favourites, which really speak to the kind of design I like, the Face Woman, Face No2 and, Face No3.

As for lifestyle, there are two things I have my eye on. There was once a time when I'd go to Starbucks a couple of times a week, I've since dropped the habit, but I still like to go to my local coffee shop every now and then, cappuccinos and hot chocolates never taste as good as they do on a coffee shop. But, I hate using either plastic or paper cups, and so enter the Keep Cup, my favourite is the Brew Cork, I especially like it with a white lid and latte plug.

While we're on the subject of reusable drinkware, back in August I bought an Urban Bottle from 24 Bottles just to stop using plastic ones, but I've since regretted not getting the Clima Bottle by them instead, so this year I've asked for a small one so I  can transport my tea around and keep it warm. I've asked for the Steel one as it looks so smart, and also it's a nice break from my pink one, although I love my pink bottle.

Books

Now, this must seem strange to some of you, and like an awful gift too, but some will get it. The Walking Dead Books. I've loved The Walking Dead ever since it first started, I've stuck to it through thick and thin when the show was at its best and at its worst, and I'll continue to love it for the rest of my life. I've always been obsessed with zombies, I used to get George Romero movies for my birthday, and I've always wanted to read the comics. I know I could just get them online and read them on my tablet, but I truly hate the experience of reading a book on a screen. Also, where I live, I can't really get the monthly comics, they show up a few times but I could never own them all. I've done my research, I could ask for the comics in Compendiums (48 stories), Hardbacks (12 stories), or Volumes (6 stories). Both compendiums and hardbacks do bring extra stories that I'd love to have, but truth is I would never be able to read from them as they are too bulky (not to mention expensive, although, in the long run, they are much less money than buying each comic every month or each volume, but I digress). I would much rather have each volume, easy to handle, easy to find, easy to read, and then, one day, when I can spare a few €€ I'd like to buy the hardbacks too just to sit nicely on my shelves...

Other than bloody zombies, cookbooks, Harry Potter and poetry are my thing. If you know me you know I love Nigella, last year I was lucky enough to get her Simply Nigella book for Christmas and I was so happy about it, I have since bought a few more, mainly from eBay, but I have yet to get my hands on At My Tablewhich has been on my list ever since it came out. As for Harry Potter, I really really reaaaally want the illustrated editions, they look absolutely gorgeous. Lastly, the hardback of The Sun and Her Flowers is beautiful and I need it in my life!

Clothing & Accessories

If there's one thing I wear more than my Converse that's my Chelsea boots, and as much as I'd love a new pair of white high tops*, particularly the special edition with Comme des Garçons*, what I really need is a pair of classic boots that are going to last me a lifetime, and the ones I've always wanted are the 2976 Doc Martens, although the 1460 Vintage have always been my goal, and the 2976 Leonore Fur Lined my latest love.

knit sweater

As for actual clothing, knitwear is what is lacking in my wardrobe, I've got a few basics, but I do wish I had a fun colour, and I feel as though this pink one from Bershka is the perfect shade, as it goes with most things in my closet (which isn't hard when all I wear is white, black and blue denim). Also, to further my love for midi knit dresses, I found this gorgeous one from Stradivarius I can't get out of my head, pair it with this beautiful trench and I'm ready to go.

gold necklace

Lastly, anything from Pico store would be wonderful, I love so many of their pieces, particularly the necklaces, from the Nazar*, to the beautiful Mati*, to my first love, the one that made me fall in love with the brand, the Honeybee* necklace.

So there we go, some of the things I'd love to have under my tree this year that I usually wouldn't buy for myself. Let me know in the comments what's on your Christmas list this year, and take a look at last year's Christmas Wishlist here.
