Gift Guide for the Comfort Freak | Christmas

hand holding a mug full of coffee

If you have a comfort freak in your family or group of friends, this is the gift guide for you. Given not everyone finds comfort in the same things, this is something you must really adapt to whomever you're gifting. This particular gift guide was made thinking of what I would like to receive so I hope it helps, even if only a little bit.

If the person you're buying for is really lacking in every department start with the basics, a nice candle like this soy hand-poured Sweater Weather Candle from YRcandles or this Pumpkin Chai Candle from BirdieCandleCo, maybe even a nice reed diffuser Christmas Spices oil from LindsayLucasCandles to go with it, and what a lovely addition this Candle Care Gift Set would be. Why not throw in one or two books about something they might be interested in?

The world is divided between coffee drinkers and tea drinkers, I will always be on the tea side of things, so this next bit is for my fellow tea-lovers. If the person you're buying for is anything like me, there's nothing cosier than a great big mug of warm tea. If your loved one has a specific favourite find it and go a little step further, for me, for example, I'd go with earl grey or black tea. No one makes a more luxurious-feeling tea than Kusmi Tea, I can't recommend their Tea Assortments enough, I received one a few years ago and I've asked for more ever since, and it looks like a good place to start. But Etsy also has lots of options to go around, I've recommended some on my Gift Guide for the Bookwormbut this Butterbeer Inspired Bookish Tea from beccaslittleboutique looks absolutely delicious too, and the idea of creating your own blend for your loved one sounds just about perfect, achieved by this Custom Tea Blending Kit from BeauTeaStudio, my personal choice would be an Earl Grey base with Oolong and then lavender, cornflowers and orange peels.

If your loved one happens to find comfort in plants and taking care of them, why not buy them a few to love and care for? Maybe a few succulents or a small plant, like this String of Hearts or this Twisted Cactus, both from Bladgoud. For an even more epic gift head on over to Citrina who sell an amazing selection of miniature citrus plants delivered right to your door, I currently have my eye on this Limonella tree which I'd love to have! If you want to give something a little extra this Plant Mister from sitandsketch to water the dainty succulents, or this adorable Leggy Terracotta Planter from PlantASmileCo are amazing options, maybe you can even throw in a few books to spice things up like this House of Plants by Rose Ray or The Little Book of Cacti and Other Succulents by Emma Sibley.

Finally, for the ultimate cosy night in, nothing beats a warm blanket! If you can make your own, that's great and the gift will be even more meaningful, these are just some of my favourite patterns I found on Etsy: Double Cable Throw Blanket and Triple Cable Throw Blanket by Midknits; and this  Shetland Chunky Cable Knit Blanket by ShadowsPatterns. If you'd rather buy something ready-made, Etsy also has a lot of handmade options, such as this Mustard Yellow 100% Sheep Wool Blanket with a Leather Handle Strap, by OldLinenMill, this blanket comes in many colours, and though the mustard one is my favourite, I also love this Checkered Gray option. But you also can't go wrong with something smaller, a pair of warm cashmere socks, a nice pair of mittens, the possibilities are endless.
